In its beginning it drew heavily on GW's previous Warhammer Fantasy game, and was essentially "Warhammer In Space," but over time grew distinct from (and much more popular than). Spear spent a long period of time working towards his goal, access to a document imprinted with a drop of The Emperor 's blood. Some of these armies (or “chapters”) parody, mock and/or are making fun of certain aspects of the Space Marines or the game and/or game’s setting as a whole itself. Karkasy was not the most morally upstanding of men, and was known for his acerbic nature and love of drink, but his poetry also stood out for always telling the truth as Karkasy saw it.
